Classroom Arrangement

Kelly Michelle is approaching her seventh year of teaching Early Childhood. Kelly has been sharing her ideas, thoughts, experiences, and advice on how to be a successful teacher through the art of blogging. Her blog, "Setting Up a Classroom - For First Year Teachers" not only offers ideas and advice on how to arrange a classroom, but she also includes pictures as examples! Kelly offers advice in setting up a classroom in four steps, the first step being the most important: Step 1 - organize your classroom materials at home Step 2 - layout your room by filling your biggest areas with the biggest items Step 3 - fill your cabinets (this step is nice because she includes a few links and even a video tour on how she organizes her cabinets) Step 4 - DECORATE! Kelly states that classroom arrangement is NEEDED, not just for yourself (the teacher), but for the students and their parents, as well. A neatly arranged classroom can help students feel comfortable, which can help create a supportive learning environment.
